Tamura Shigeru
Mangaka, illustrator, and film-maker. Made his manga debut in Garo in 1977, beginning a run of oneshots in Garo and elsewhere that were collected in Dr. Hoop's Moon Travels (1980), Small Planet (1985) and Crystal Hunting (1986).
In the 1990s, he directed three anime based on his stories: the short films Ginga no Uo: Ursa minor Blue and Glassy Ocean, and the anthology film a piece of Phantasmagoria (based on his art book and video game of the same name).
His most recent manga work was Phantasmagoria Days (2000).
Most of his manga are currently out-of-print, and not available digitally. However, several of his picture books and art books are still available new, including his most recent career-spanning art book, Ultramarine Deep.
Mangaka and illustrator. His earlier manga were first published in Ax magazine, the spiritual successor to Garo.
Main works include: Suiton Kikou (2011), 8-gatsu no Soda Sui (2013), and Gogo no Akubi (2014–2023).
As well as several picture books for children, he also illustrated a number of Pokemon cards.
Most of his work is currently in-print, and much is available digitally. His manga are also available officially in French.

Itagaki Nobuo
Mangaka. Regularly published oneshots and short series in Garo between 1985 and 1996, many of which were collected in the volumes Negative Stories (1986), Paper Theater (1989), and Cinema Lunatica (1996). His most recent work seems to have been a series of children's picture books (Nekomushi Stories) published in the early 2000s.
All of his work is out-of-print, and he appears to have no online presence.
